Alienware Aurora R13 gaming desktop review

Alienware Aurora R13 is a high-end PC for gaming. However, it is highly expensive, which would make you question if it is the equipment you need to fulfill your requirements. Starting from $1,299.99 to $4,199.99, the price varies as per your demand for the configurations. Also, you would have to pay more if you want extra upgrades. Australian discounted prices start from $3,679 to $6,399; again, you can request a custom configuration as you pay for it.

If you want low RAM, storage, graphics, and fps rate, you could opt for the model with a lower price range. However, if you wish to invest in high-end specs and configuration, you could think about buying the Aurora R13. The reason is that even if you think about building your custom gaming PC, it will prove to be even more expensive, thanks to the costly components.

Now, let’s see what this PC can offer you and if it’s worth investing your money in it.

Design:

Alienware Aurora R13 has a beautiful design. The glass panel allows you to view the internal parts of the machine. The cooling fans, SSD slots, RAM, and more can be viewed from the glass, giving a very classy look to the overall model. Also, the design allows easy accessibility for future modifications. You can get this model in black or white color as per your preference.

You can see a lot of ports at the side and back. However, none of them include thunderbolts. You could use an adapter to cover up for that. The size and weight tell that this PC will need major space, but that’s not an issue. Coming to the cooling fans, you might not feel very satisfied with them. They will become pretty noisy as you play some highly intense games.

Performance:

With specs like RTX 3090 GPU, Core i9, and 64 GB RAM DDR5, it performs smoothly at a 4k display. Also, when we checked the temperatures of CPU and GPU, they were pretty good compared to the Alienware R12. The benchmarks calculating the FPS at the highest preset settings with DLSS off at 4k gave good results. For instance, in Witcher 3, the FPS rate was 110, and at HD, it was 195.

All in all, this is a pretty awesome PC for gaming. However, know that the performance might be okay if you want to use it for other purposes like heavy editing on software like Adobe Premiere and Blender. But, the CPU temperature will reach its peak, causing thermal issues. You might need a robust cooling solution to keep the temperatures under control.

Conclusion:

We love the design and overall performance of the R13, but those who do not need such a fast PC would do just fine with lower specs. Also, the cooling performance might become an issue from time to time. You might have to upgrade the fans. All in all, it is a good high-end pre-built PC for gamers.
